Texas Investigates a Trans Family and Now the Trans Family Is Suing the State

Here’s a story about three Texas families with trans kids. The state of Texas has been investigating these families for over gender-confirming treatments and I guess the families got sick of it. Now they’re suing the state.

The lawsuit filed on Wednesday is the latest challenge over the state looking into such treatments as child abuse. The lawsuit also asks a Texas judge to block similar investigations against other members of an LGBTQ advocacy group.

Here’s more.  Lambda Legal and the ACLU are now involved. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more stories like this in the MAGA states. And if you don’t know what gender-confirming treatments are this might help. I’ll be honest. I’m not totally sure there’s a set definition. The concept of gender-confirming treatments seems to cover a vast area. For the most part, it seems to be more about support than anything else.

Life Is Harder For Gay People In China

This is a new documentary about what it’s like to be gay in China. I don’t like the fact that they still use the word “homosexual” and it is a website where you need a subscription. I wouldn’t normally link to websites like this, but I wanted to make a point. I think it’s important for people to see what life for gay people is like on a global level.

It sucks.

It was never easy to be gay in China, where the government cares little about the rights of sexual minorities.

Here’s the rest. We still have a long way to go.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
