Gay Fairytale Lost for 200 Years
I love things like this because we don’t have much gay history of any kind. Everything gay related has always been so discreet we have to read between the lines. Being gay was simply not something that was openly discussed. And, being gay is almost always associated with sex and sexuality, not folklore or stories. They never realize that being gay it about more than just sex.
However, this is unique.
His research suggests that not only did gay fairytale “The Dog And The Sailor” exist but that a “whole chunk of LGBTQ folklore” was “deleted” by one homophobic man, as recently as the 1950s.
