Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci Play Gay Face

I have no doubt Tucci and Firth will be up for Oscars for playing gay face in this film, and frankly, I’m tired of posting about these things. I do believe this will change in time. From what I’ve been told, black face was acceptable at one time. The Prime Minister of Canada dressed up in black face not too long ago, which of course was wrong even at that time. He has since apologized. But, sadly, it took time for people to realize just how wrong it was to do that. And that’s how it’s going to work with gay face.

Firth and Tucci are the lead actors in Supernova, a British film focusing on a romance between two life-long partners as they travel around England in an RV after Tucci’s character begins experiencing early-onset dementia.

I just wonder sometimes how openly gay actors like Rupert Everett feel about straight actors playing gay face nowadays. I would think that Rupert Everett would have been perfect for one of these parts. Everett has voiced his opinions about being openly gay in Hollywood.  This is an interesting link, too.

Rupert Everett has opened up on homophobia within the film industry, claiming that gay people are treated like “second class citizens”.

Support For Guy Who Hates His High-Pitched Voice

I think we all have something about ourselves we dislike, and most people don’t like the sound of their own voices. I don’t like the sound of mine. I think it’s too deep. This guy is just the opposite. It’s a Reddit thread where a guy talks about how much he dislikes his own high-pitched voice.

“I honestly just want to become mute or rip my vocal cords apart,” the user added. “I would have better chances dating. I’m becoming increasingly self-conscious about it. And I’m actually scared of meeting guys in real life because of that. I’ve tried voice-lowering techniques, but they don’t seem to work. I hate my voice with a passion. Anyone else relates?”

Here’s a link to the rest.  People were very supportive.
