LGBT Young People and Suicide
This is disturbing, but at least we’re talking about it and getting it out in the open, which I think helps a lot.
A report released earlier this year reveals 1 in 3 LGBTI 14-18 year olds in Ireland have attempted to take their own lives.
The report indicates this is due to ‘bullying, rejection and pressures to hide who they really are.’
One anonymous respondent of the nation-wide survey said: ‘I was having nervous thoughts about whether I was going to come out to my parents or not.’
In the past, suicides related to LGBT youth were hidden and covered up. In fact, you didn’t talk about suicide at all.
I also think this article shows how difficult it still is for LGBT youth, and LGBT people of all ages.

Gay Marine Who Saved the President’s Life
This is something I had to go digging to find. It wasn’t mentioned on social media at all, at least not in my feeds. I see people writing gay history books, exploiting gay people all the time, but I never even knew this happened.
In San Francisco on September 22, 1975, Sipple was among a group of people watching President Gerald Ford exit the St. Francis hotel, including would-be assassin Sara Jane Moore. After her first shot at the President missed, Sipple lunged, pushing her arm down and causing her second shot to fail, too.
He tried to subdue fame and even asked police not to release his name, but they did. “Man who saved Ford says he is no hero,” read the Associated Press headline, and that’s exactly how he was hailed in multiple media stories around the world. And by the President whose thank you note read:
Openly Gay Richard Grenell On Trump’s List For UN Ambassador
This is another one I had to go digging for. I didn’t even see it on Twitter.
An openly gay foreign affairs guru who is a prolific Twitter user has landed on President-elect Donald Trump’s short list to be the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, The Post has learned.
Richard Grenell, 50, who served as spokesman to four US ambassadors to the UN under President George W. Bush, would be the first openly gay American to be UN ambassador.
You can check that out here. From the way it sounds, he’s very outspoken.
And here’s more about Grenell at wiki. I know the elite don’t like Wiki, but I find it plausible for the most part. Grenell hasn’t always had it easy, and he’s a cancer survivor.
