New Release: "Second Chance" Gay Romance .99 E-Book

New Release: “Second Chance” Gay Romance .99 E-Book

Update: Just went live on Amazon, here.

The first book in the “Second Chance” series just went live and I’ll post the links I have. It will be available at all venues where e-books are sold eventually. It’s hard to pinpoint an Amazon release because the time it takes varies from book to book. But for now it’s definitely on Smashwords and

For more information you can read previous posts here, and here, where I’ve shared the blurb and a fairly long excerpt. I think the most interesting part of writing this book was that it’s set for the most part in the year 1950 when life was very different for gay men. There is more innocence, especially with sexual content. And gay men were more guarded in those days, to the point of total denial.

Stay tuned for more new releases coming soon. I have about four books with publishers that haven’t been release yet, including one that’s over 117,000 words and another that’s a Christmas romance from the Glendora Hill series.

New Release; Bruno Gmunder Verlag Anthology

New Release; Bruno Gmunder Verlag Anthology

I have a short story out in a new anthology recently released by German Publisher, Bruno Gmunder Verlag. I just received the author copy in the mail today and the book looks great. It’s always nice to hold that physical book in your hand no matter how much you love digital books. This anthology was put together and edited by Winston Giesecke, whom I’ve posted about before, here.

The title of the book is Daddy Knows Best: Gay Erotic Stories, and this is always something that brings me back to my roots as a writer…pre-internet days when publishing, especially gay publishing, was a very different place.  I haven’t been in an anthology like this for a while for lack of time, however, it’s where I feel the most secure as a writer because I know where I am as a gay writer, for lack of a better way to phrase that.

What is it about older men that gay boys find so irresistible? Some say young men in search of a “daddy” to partner up with – sometimes for life, sometimes just for the night – are looking for someone to mentor them. Take care of them. But there are plenty of young studs with dirty minds who simply find that men get better with age. Older men are hotter. More confident. More experienced. For some, it’s all about dominance and submission. For others, it’s about getting off with a guy who turns you on. These are the couplings explored in Daddy Knows Best, a sizzling collection of erotic stories – some romantic, some raunchy – that probe the younger man-older man dynamic in sensual, graphic detail. About the Editor: Beginning his career as a television writer, Winston Gieseke penned episodes for shows like Wildfire and Hollywood Off-Ramp. He has composed tantalizing copy for various adult entertainment companies and served as editor in chief of both Men and Freshmen magazines before honing his journalistic skills as managing editor of The Advocate.

New Release: The Silicon Valley Sex Scandal

New Release: The Silicon Valley Sex Scandal

Here’s the cover for my new release with Ravenous Romance in the Bad Boy Billionaire series, Silicon Valley Sex Scandal. I like what they did this time. I see several key elements from the book in the cover, including the ultra modern home the main character owns in Cupertino, CA.

I get into a few interesting things in this book, like cyber-dating, online fakery, catfishing, and stalking. I took the liberty of using poetic license at times in a positive sense, because this is how I wish the Internet would be. But I think in time it will be more secure…after enough important people suffer the things others have been suffering online. In other words, when it happens to someone like Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg, we’ll see changes come fast. And that’s exactly what I wanted to point out in this book with the main character…as a sideline to the romantic plot.

Here’s the blurb…free excerpts to come when it’s released:

Shannon Winn is known as the world’s most capricious gay billionaire and the owner of the world’s safest, coolest social media web site, When Shannon meets a guy named Terry on his own web site, he considers it fun and games, not looking for a relationship.

And that’s because Shannon already has an open relationship with his personal assistant, Justin. Although they aren’t committed to each other, Shannon’s not looking to meet anyone else for love. This bad boy just wants to fool around with Terry and forget all about him the next day.

It’s unfortunate for Shannon that Terry doesn’t realize this, because after their first and only time together Terry not only falls in love with Shannon, he begins to stalk him and imagine them as a couple. In the course of one week, Terry follows Shannon’s every move, showing up unexpectedly and seducing Shannon with great success.

When bad boy Shannon finally realizes the fatal mistakes he’s made with Terry, and he knows for certain he’s really in love with Justin, it just might be too late for them. Will Terry’s crazed infatuation with Shannon ruin Shannon’s chances of true love with Justin? And will delusional Terry finally snap and kill them all?

Bad Boy Billionaires: Cowboy in Love

Bad Boy Billionaires: Cowboy in Love

This is the next book in the Bay Boy Billionaire series, and I placed the main character, Bailey, in a unique situation this time. Bailey lost his partner one year earlier and he’s still grieving, to the point where he actually has imaginary conversations with him when no one else is around. At least that’s what Bailey thinks. His daughter catches him talking to no one a few times and she starts to worry about him. And then his sister comes to Texas for a visit and she starts to think he’s lost his mind. All he’s trying to do is figure out a way to live the rest of his life without his deceased partner, and he knows all this is only in his imagination…and yet so real sometimes. There are several highly emotional parts of this book that were difficult to write, one of which includes the horse that belonged to the deceased partner. Another is learning how to let go and start all over again.

Here’s the blurb. And you can read more here, and I’ll add links as soon as it’s available at other places where e-books are sold.

Billionaire oil tycoon Bailey Chalfont has spent the last year of his life in Rome, running away from his heartbreak and indulging in a self-destructive lifestyle that has left him feeling bitter and alone. Returning home to Texas to spend the summer with his daughter, Kendra, brings all of his worst demons back to him. Everywhere he looks, he sees Christopher. When Bailey meets the new ranch manager, Garrett, he’s surprised and annoyed to learn that Kendra has instructed Garrett to ride with him whenever he takes Christopher’s horse, Cyclone, for a ride. And when Garrett won’t let Bailey ride the wild unbreakable horse alone, Bailey insults Garrett in an unthinkable way. This only leads to more bad behavior on Bailey’s part, which all comes to a head during a combination Fourth of July anniversary party Bailey will never forget. Will Bailey ever come to terms with losing Christopher and move on with his life? And will Bailey finally realize that love isn’t as impossible or as far away as he thinks it is? Find out in BAD BOY BILLIONAIRE: COWBOY IN LOVE, by best-selling author Ryan Field!

New Release Today: Internal Desires

I’m late to the blog today because it’s Sunday and I had like ten million things to do around the house I never get a chance to do during the week. I keep telling Tony that town house life is looking better and better to me these days.

In any event, my new novella Internal Desires is up on Amazon. You can check it out here at this link. It’s a .99 e-book and it’s part of the lending program KDP select. This means readers that are part of the lending program will get a chance to do this:

What is the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library?

With an Amazon Prime membership, Kindle owners can now choose from thousands of books to borrow for free once a month, with no due dates. For more info, click

This is the book description for Internal Desires:

When young Randy’s mom and dad leave the ranch in Montana for a week long road trip, he remains home alone because of a baseball game and his job as a part time cowboy on a dude ranch. But Randy really has plans that week to experiment with his secret internal desire. It’s something he’s kept hidden for years beneath his old baseball gloves and athletic cups, and something he’s never told anyone aloud.
After gathering up all the courage he can, he sets out for an epic night of adventure only to discover the darker side of his secret fantasy that includes a misogynist idiot at a country western bar and serious brand of rape culture he’s only studied about in community college. Randy panics and he isn’t sure what to do. But when the man of his dreams shows up and turns out to be his real life hero, Randy winds up discovering internal desires he didn’t even know he had

Internal Desires; Nude Channing Tatum; Jane Lynch Gay Divorce

Here’s my new book cover for the upcoming release, Internal Desires. This one is another indie, it’s a long short story that runs 13,000 words, and it will be a .99 e-book and I’ve opted into the kindle select program for the next three months. What that means is I will have a three month exclusive with Amazon because this is a lending program. I hate the exclusive as a writer, but I love the lending program as a reader, and if you don’t have a kindle app and you’re not part of the program as a reader you might want to check it out. Just a suggestion. I know everyone has an opinion about this.

In any event, here’s the book description…it’s LGBT new adult:

Nude Channing Tatum
From the Oh No They Didn’t blog, here’s an article about Channing Tatum. If you scroll down to the bottom of the post you’ll find an excellent, artistic portrait of Channing Tatum in the nude. The article gets into an experience a guy once had with Tatum.
Back in 1998, I was spending the summer in the dorm at Glenville State College to help with the student newspaper. I met a football player who was there for summer practice. His name was Chan Tatum, and I paid him $30 to pose for my wallpaper site.

I decided to Google his name, and I found out he’s now a famous model. I’ve drooled over his professional work for years and somehow never connected the dots to realize it was him. The closest I got was thinking the actor driving the car in the Mountain Dew commercial seemed familiar.

In retrospect, his shock that I could sell photos of him seems really really funny.

Jane Lynch Divorce
I’ve been meaning to write a long post on gay divorce for a long time, but it’s tricky to do because from a legal standpoint there is no such thing in most states because gay marriage isn’t legal. This post about Jane Lynch getting divorced made me think about a few things I’ve seen in the past with other gay couples I’ve known. I would assume Lynch and her wife will have to follow the divorce laws in MA because marriage is legal there. But not all gay couples have that right now.
Glee star Jane Lynch has announced that she and her wife of three years, Lara Embry, are getting divorced. The couple, who were married in Western Massachusetts, met at a fundraiser in 2009. “I thought she was cute,” Embry told People magazine when she and Lynch married.
I wish I could say that all gay marriages last forever and end in HEA. But the fact is that just like straight couples, gay couples get divorced, too.
The only big difference is that straight couples who get divorced have legal rights. Gay couples in most states don’t, so they have to work it out alone. And sometimes that can get very messy…or be very unfair. I’ve seen it happen more than once.

Captain Velvet’s Velvet Box – All Romance Ebooks

I almost completely forgot I have a new release out titled, “Captin Velvet’s Velvet Box.”

It’s sort of a Halloween/costume themed story, but not totally. In fact, having it released this time of year turned out to be fate more than planning. But I like the way the cover turned out with the mask at the bottom. Captain Velvet is an anonymous character who works in an ad agency during the day.

In any event, it’s a short story about a gay superhero fantasy, with I hope a lot of humor and a storyline that isn’t a romance, but something people can relate to in their own individual ways. Here’s a link to ARe. And it can be purchased on Amazon and the publisher’s web site

Captain Velvet’s Velvet Box – All Romance Ebooks

Here’s the blurb:

When nice looking young Ross finally loses his virginity, he discovers something unusual he didn’t know about himself. He thinks he’s just a normal guy fresh out of college, working in a low profile job in advertising, living in a small studio apartment in New York. Until he discovers he has this unexplainable super-sexual ability to bring men to their knees. It’s an erotic gift so powerful and so earth-shattering it actually makes one hunky semi-pro baseball player scream out, “Polka Doodle-Doooo,” in the proverbial height of passion. When word starts to get around about Ross’s superhuman erotic gift, he’s approached by a producer who wants him to star in an all-male adult video titled, “Captain Velvet”, with six strapping young football players and a kinky costume that includes a sheer black cape and a black velvet mask. Although Ross is reluctant at first, he finally agrees to star in the video as long as he can remain anonymous.

And here’s an excerpt:

The way Ross Rand gained his unexpected fame happened by accident, a pure coincidence of fate he’d never expected, not in his wildest dreams. He couldn’t have planned it if he’d tried. He’d never been considered overly ambitious, and no one would have referred to him as the aggressive type. Yet, in spite of all this, he wound up obtaining a level of celebrity—and some fortune—few people are ever able to achieve.

He was only twenty-two years old by the time all this happened, a recent college graduate living in a rented Manhattan studio apartment, working as a junior sales rep for a large advertising agency. People described him as slim and athletic, with short, reddish brown hair parted perfectly on the right. His small, straight nose and strong, dimpled chin suggested true Yankee origin. He wore preppy white shirts and casual khaki slacks and took pride in the fact he had always blended into a crowd without being noticed.

It’s not that he was shy or had serious inhibitions. He simply didn’t have the ambition to be anything other than a normal guy living a normal life. And right after college, it hadn’t occurred yet to Ross that he’d been blessed with a superhuman gift, a type of sensual magic, which could bring any man to his knees, begging for more.

The night he finally realized he was different from other men, he was in bed with a guy he’d met at a downtown bar. He’d just lost his virginity to a thirty-year-old Italian guy, Bruno from Brooklyn, with jet black hair and large muscles bulging all over his olive-skinned body. Though Bruno from Brooklyn pronounced his TH’s as D’s, and every sentence included the F-word, Ross had liked the way he’d spread his legs wide and hiked up his jeans when he’d sat down at the barstool earlier that evening.

Ross loved one thing most of all about Bruno. He leaned toward being obnoxious in some ways, a real butch type who smoked and drank beer straight from the bottle. The night they first met, Bruno wasted no time placing his massive palm aggressively on the small of Ross’s back in front of all the other guys in the bar. He wanted them to know that Ross belonged to him, and to make it clear to Ross in no uncertain terms that he would always be the aggressor. Though Ross wasn’t effeminate, he clearly was the placid, fair-haired type most dark, forceful guys prefer. Some would have considered him submissive at a glance.

The lines were clearly drawn from the start: Bruno from Brooklyn had a wife, two children, and a full-time job as a New York firefighter. He was only looking for some fun and games on the down low and was only interested in quick sex with guys who had great asses. For all Ross knew, he could have been bisexual, not gay. This was fine with Ross, still a virgin in more ways than one. He only wanted to gain some experience and wasn’t about to transform Bruno into the love of his life. Though Ross loved romance and fantasy, he had a serious pragmatic side. And he knew there was no use trying to change someone like Bruno, who was already set in his ways for life.

On the first night they met, they went back to Ross’s small studio apartment without knowing much about each other. It was one of those apartments that resembled a square box, with a bed in one corner, a small window in the middle, and a desk/office area in the opposite corner. The floors were typical refinished Manhattan parquet and the walls basic white. Opposite the bed, there was a closet, a small bathroom with a dingy white shower stall, and a kitchenette that had a built-in two-burner stovetop and no oven.

Ross had never been with a man before this; he didn’t know how to react or what to do. But it soon became evident Bruno had plenty of experience. The moment they were alone in Ross’s apartment, Bruno practically tore Ross’s clothes off and threw him down on the bed, where they kissed and hugged and groped each other like normal, heterosexual teenagers in the backseat of some hockey mom’s minivan. Ross made no attempt to change positions when big, strong Bruno pinned him to the bed and climbed on top of him.

Bruno was so desperate to get into Ross’s pants, he never bothered to remove his own clothes. He just unzipped his tight jeans and let his big, thick cock bounce out. He pressed and rubbed it into Ross’s flat, naked pelvis. Ross remained the submissive—flat on his back, stark naked, while Bruno kept him pinned to the white sheets and did things to him he’d always wanted big, strong men to do in the backseat of his mom’s minivan.

Release: The Virgin Billionaire’s Little Angel

In this final book in The Virgin Billionaire series, THE VIRGIN BILLIONAIRE’S LITTLE ANGEL, one of the things I wanted to do most was tie up the storyline in subtle ways with the first book in the series. In fact, I wanted to end the last book with the first line of the first book. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way.

But I did bring back an integral character that was mentioned in the first book, is mentioned in all the books, and yet never actually appears in any of the books. The character is a woman named Elena. She has a fictional web site in France where she writes about and posts photos of gay men in very tasteful, elegant, and artist ways. It’s no secret now that I loosely based this unseen character on Elisa Rolle, who runs a m/m romance book review blog at livejournal from Italy. At the time, I had no idea this book would become a series. I met Elisa a few years ago in person. She came to my home, we had lunch, and our friendship grew after we met in person.

I also tend to think about the future sometimes. I do believe, without a doubt, what Elisa has been doing with her web site will become part of LGBT history. She will be looked upon as one of the pioneers of LGBT literature and digital publishing one day years from now when I’m long gone. And I wanted to put something wonderful about her in writing because she’s done so many wonderful things for LGBT authors and books.

Here’s an excerpt, without spoilers, from a section of this book where Luis is reading Elena’s web site:

After he walked for about fifteen minutes, he decided to sit down on a park bench and relax. This was something he rarely did in the park. He crossed his legs, swerved to the right, and pulled his phone out of his pocket. He turned the phone on and checked his messages. There was nothing of importance that couldn’t wait until later. Then he went to the website where he wrote guest blog posts, Elena’s Romantic Treasures and Tidbits, to see what Elena’s latest blog post was about. He preferred to read Elena’s posts instead of his own, after all these years, because they still made him feel warm and safe in a way nothing else could. This one thing in his life remained his own private secret treasure no one could alter.
