Julian Fantechi: Romance Cover Model

A few years ago I wrote a couple of posts about Julian Fantechi. I got to know him through a series of e-mail exchanges regarding a promotion he was doing.

In short, he’s a great guy who works hard at what he does, doesn’t have a hint of attitude, and has that rare combination of looks and brains. I’ve always wanted (dreamed) him on the cover of one of my books. I don’t mean this in a sexual way either. I would actually prefer to have him dressed the way he is in the photo above. I think readers love him and he adds another dimension of fantasy and escapism to romance novels in general. But publishers decide these things and I don’t have any say in the matter. But if I were to self-publish, finding out what it would take to get Julian on the cover of my book would be one of my top priorities (don’t know if he’d be interested or not, and I assume his calendar is booked way in advance…it’s a dream).

Here’s Julian’s official bio on Wiki. Here’s a link to where you check check out his videos. I’ve seen them and liked them. He also has a fan page on FB, right here.

Here’s an older interview with Julian, but I think his personality comes through loud and clear. And, this is another good interview, here.

I can’t find a web site for him. But his latest project is a commercial for CoxBiz-Midway. Here’s the youtube video. If you check out the FB link it will lead to other online information about Julian. I just thought it would be nice to post about him today and revisit a few of my own favorite posts I’ve written since I started blogging.

Julian Fantechi: Romance Book Cover Model and Playgirl Centerfold

I posted about Julian Fantechi a few weeks ago and I wanted to do an update. Since then, I’ve gotten to know Julian better, and he’s even a nicer guy than I originally thought he was. When I first met him he was offering a promotion to his fans. For $19.99, anyone could contact him and he’d send them a signed Playgirl Magazine and a head shot, and he’d donate five dollars of the $19.99 to the Humane Society.

Being a huge fan of the Humane Society, as well being a Julian fan (I’d never seen his Playgirl centerfold… but I’d always been a fan of his romance book covers), I contacted him. We started talking about his book covers and he sent me the info I’d need to receive the signed Playgirl Magazine he’d done.

The autographed magazine and the head shot arrived yesterday and it’s really a great centerfold. And the fact that Playgirl is not in print anymore makes it collectible, too. So if anyone’s interested in this offer, and helping the Humane Society, you can contact Julian here and he’ll send you the information you need.

The Humane Society is a good cause, and you get in touch with a fantastic guy at the same time.

Juilan Fantechi

This is a pg rated blog, so this is going to be a pg rated post about a great guy I recently exchanged a few e-mails with, Julian Fantechi. He’s posed in Playgirl and other magazines, and he has a few TV and film credits as well. I honestly hadn’t heard of him until we started talking about this work, his photos, and his career in TV and film. Because of the kind of romance novels I write, usually dealing with TV, Film, or Fashion, I was intrigued by his first e-mail and replied to him with just a basic compliment. And now I’m a huge fan.

Meeting Julian is also coincidental in the sense that I’ve just finished my latest book, ALL ABOUT YVES, which is a romance based on the old movie, “All About Eve.” But my book revolves around the fashion industry and the modeling industry instead of the theater industry, as it did in the film. It’s coincidental because I didn’t plan on meeting any male models, especially not one like Julian who seems to be so much like the main character in my book it’s scary. I love when this happens, because it gives me the feeling that I’m on the right track with the theme of a book. It’s happened before with other novels, but it’s never been quite this obvious.

And, aside from all this coincidence, I have to say that I haven’t met a nicer guy in a long time. Julian is smart, funny, and extremely professional. I was so impressed I even sent of an e-mail to a publisher, suggesting it might be a nice idea to get Julian for a few book covers. And I never do this. I don’t like getting involved with book covers. I don’t know if Julian will actually ever be on one of my book covers. But either way, it was nice making a new friend who is such a decent guy.
If you’re interested in finding out more about Julian, take the time to check out his web pages. His sites are smart, friendly, and easy to use. Here’s his official web site:
And, for a limited time only, Julian is offering a special promotion right now. For 19.99 he will send you an autographed copy of his Playgirl centerfold, and he’s donating five dollars from each request to the Humane Society. (Told you he was a nice guy.)He told me you can feel free to contact him here:
