Adam Joseph Out.com
I know those of you in other parts of the world won’t know who Adam Joseph is. For that matter, most people in the US don’t know. However, I’m posting this for a specific reason. Adam Joseph is a local Philadelphia weatherperson with an ABC affiliate that I’m familiar with because I live in New Hope, Bucks County, and he was recently mentioned at Out.com.
Meteorologist Adam Joseph made Philadelphia history in August 2014, when he became the city’s first major on-air news personality to come out publicly. But the subsequent 15 months are what have proved truly groundbreaking for Joseph, as he and his partner, Karl, have watched their son, Jacob, grow and thrive.
I forget how long Joseph was doing the weather here before he actually came out in public. It was a while. It seems as if he’s been around for a long time. But I think things like this are significant because he and his small family are part of the more silent people within the LGBT+ community I’m always harping about on this blog. They’re just living their lives like millions of other people all over the world.
One of the anchor people at the same TV station where Joseph works, Brian Taff, posted a long status update on Facebook. It turned out to be more of a tribute to him of sorts.
Proud of you, bud. Thanks for teaching all of us — me included — that the best version of yourself is the most authentic version, and that all of us should be the person who can make ourselves smile.

Johnny Depp Playing Jack Sparrow As Gay
This one is a little hard to parse at first, and I love it. Johnny Depp claims he not only played the character Jack Sparrow as gay…but all of his characters are gay.
‘It trickled back to me somehow that, “Goddammit, Johnny Depp’s ruining the film! What is that thing? Is it drunk, is it gay?’ Depp said.
He said he was called in to meet with someone at the ‘upper echelon of the studio’ to explain his acting choices.
‘What the fuck are you doing?’ he remembered the executive saying. ‘When they asked if it was gay, I said: “Did you know all my characters are gay?”
It’s not often an article actually leaves me speechless. Half the time I have too much to say and the other half I spend self-censoring so I don’t insult anyone in this highly PC world we’re living in.
This time I’ve got nothing to add.
But I think I like Johnny Depp a whole lot more now.
Nick Jonas Being Gay Coy
You know, there are some things in life you take seriously and some you don’t. This one you don’t. I don’t even think Nick Jonas takes it very seriously.
Jonas, “the actor-singer,” who plays gayface on some TV show I’ve never seen was recently asked if he’s been with men. It really was a stupid question and I don’t get the obsession with Jonas.
Jonas replied: ‘I can’t say if I have or haven’t, but if you watch (Kingdom) you’ll see more of that.’
The young performer has openly been courting his gay fans in recent years including making live appearances at gay clubs and, on occasion, taking his shirt off.
As a result, some have accused Jonas of gay baiting.
‘In every situation when there’s an opportunity to be negative some people find the need to be,’ he says of the criticism.
