RuPaul Nails It On Straight Pop Culture

I often post about how straight pop culture shames or laughs at gay culture. I see it happen almost daily. They don’t always laugh with gay culture. They laugh at it. And that’s the problem. You never see gay people joke around about Jimmy Fallon and that perpetual shit eating grin on his face. God forbid a gay person should do that. But it’s okay for straight pop culture to shame gays.

Well, Ru Paul decided to speak up about it.

‘Regular, straight pop culture has liberally lifted things from gay culture as long as I can remember. And that’s fine, because guess what? We have so much more where that comes from. Take it!’

They talk so much about acceptance now today and it’s like, yes, but trust me — I’m old and I know this shit — it’s superficial. Because as soon as the lights go out, you’ll see how advanced people’s thinking is. This so-called “Will & Grace acceptance” era is just people fucking posing. Things haven’t changed that much. You see it in politics right now — that’s the fucking truth of people. And you know, people will have you think, “Oh, we’re fashion. We’re gay. That’s my gay over there!” It’s like, no. We’re still a very, very, very primitive culture.’

You can read the rest here. RuPaul so freaking nailed this one I don’t have anything else to say.

The Easter Bunny’s Chocolate Penis, and Peep Smut

I remember there used to be a candy store in New York that sold erotic candy. I can’t remember the name and I’m not even sure if it’s still there. But this link reminded me of them.

It’s a web site called Chocolate Fantasies, and it is focused on all kinds of erotic chocolate designs. I wish I could share a photo, but the best I can do it offer the link.

They have one design with a chocolate Easter Bunny that has a chocolate penis.

And, there’s a ‘thing’ out there called “Peep Smut,” which I believe is erotic fanfic about Peeps. I can’t go into detail about that here on the blog, but you can check out this short Peep Smut here.

James Franco In Rolling Stone

James Franco is at it again, and this time in an interview with Rolling Stone. It seems that all those gay boy stories about him, and all the appropriation and gay bait articles, actually help him when he’s dating women.

Hollywood heartthrob James Franco has revealed what makes him obsessed with telling gay stories and playing gay roles and how the gay rumors that fly around him as a result are actually helpful when he’s dating women in a long form interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
The interview explores what it calls Franco’s ‘artistic preoccupation’ with homosexuality both in the films he makes himself and the roles he chooses to play in other people’s projects.

The rest of this buttsmoke is here.

It’s also another good example of straight pop culture lifting from gay culture. The good thing is that there are only two comments. I don’t think you could drag me into a James Franco movie again.
