Jared Leto Gay Actors Don’t Get the Same Opportunities As Straight

Straight Guys Sleeping With Men; Jared Leto On Gay Actors; Pope Denounces Transgenders

Straight Guys Sleeping With Men

Here’s another one of those articles about straight guys sleeping with men but still identifying as straight.

“It rather depends on what you think being gay means,” the Guyliner writes. “For most people, ask what ‘gay’ means to them and, if we’re talking about guys, they’ll say a man who has sex with other men.”

You can read the rest here. In this case, I think the article goes on to make a few good points about what it really means to be gay and that it’s not just about sex.

Jared Leto On Gay Actors

Here’s a quote by Jared Leto about how gay actors don’t get the same opportunities as straight actors. There’s a lot of talk about this lately, and I tend to agree with Leto. The same thing happens in publishing. Gay authors don’t get the same opportunities as straight white authors…not even in their own genres anymore.

“I definitely don’t think a gay leading man would have the same opportunities as a straight leading man. I don’t think that. Not for a single second. I don’t know if that’s offensive or not, but that’s my thought right now. It shouldn’t be that way. I don’t think you’ll have as many opportunities. And I think you could say the same for minorities. What a word, “minority.” Have we taken that word off the list yet? ‘Cause it should be. Anyway, no, I think that this is still a very conservative business.”

You can check that out here.

Pope Denounces Transgenders

I’m not even going to try to comment on this one. All you need to know is that the Pope is at it again and nothing is going to change as far as he is concerned.

He said: “Today, in schools they are teaching this to children – to children! – that everyone can choose their gender.” Without specifying, he blamed this on textbooks supplied by “persons and institutions who donate money”. The pope blamed what he called “ideological colonizing” backed by “very influential countries”, which he did not identify. One such “colonization”, he said – “I’ll say it clearly with its first and last name – is gender.”

There’s more to this one here.

I believe there are a lot more transgender people out there who still haven’t come out of the closet yet.
