Roman Catholic Synod and Gay Priest
A Roman Catholic synod is a group or council of the Church that is created to help provide a solution for some kind of law or doctrine. They examine/discuss issues of significant importance. That’s really a very generalized definition, but I’m trying to make something very complicated short and simple.
In this particular case, Pope Francis put together a synod of about 300 Church leaders and lay people to examine how gays are treated, how unmarried straight couples who live together are treated, and, about receiving communion after divorce.
On the eve the synod was to convene a Roman Catholic priest announced he was in a gay relationship and he was dismissed shortly after that. Church officials as slamming this priest’s motives and claiming he put even more pressure on Pope Francis than he already has.
But the synod is only designed to help examine and offer suggestions.
It will be up to the Pope to decide what – if anything – changes, and how the Church applies its teaching to its sometimes errant flock.
The outcome should be interesting and I wouldn’t begin to speculate on what it might be at this point in time. I think Pope Francis is an interesting man and I don’t mean that in a negative way. You can read more here.
Comments On “Gay For Pay”
Since yesterday’s post on gay for pay, I noticed there were a lot of comments on the article I linked to so I decided to just focus on the comments for a change.
One person said this:
Glamorizing it as “gay-for-pay” doesn’t change the fact that this is prostitution and that guy is a hooker.
And I thought this was interesting…
I’ve been paid for sex by a 60 yo man when i was 19 yo. It was fun. I enjoy remembering these magical moments.
Everyone seems to have a unique opinion on the topic and I think it’s a good example of how diverse the gay community really is.

ISIS Kills More Gay Men
This kind of thing just guts me. While everyone’s so worried about Kim Davis and her ridiculous plan to remain in the spotlight for longer than 15 minutes, this nightmare has been happening.
Two young men were thrown off the roof a building in Mosul under the pretext they were a gay couple.
‘On Sunday afternoon, Daesh called on the people of Mosul to gather in the square of Bab al-Toub in order to witness the execution of the two allegedly men,’ an eyewitness told ARA News.
‘The victims were taken to the top of a building and were brutally thrown off the roof.’
There’s more about that here. What I’d like to know is why aren’t we hearing more about this everywhere?!?
