Is the LGBTQI Acronym Becoming Irrelevant?
I hear this discussion all the time in RL with friends. It’s not that they think the acronym itself is irrelevant. It’s just that they’re confused and sometimes even irritated by all the other additions to the acronym. Most, if not all of the people I know, don’t even know what the added letters stand for.
According to writer Alex Myers over at Slate, the answer is: Never. He says the LGBTQ acronym can’t have enough letters, numbers, and symbols, and here’s why:
“Adding more labels to the acronym isn’t about making sure all the snowflakes know they are special,” Myers writes. “These labels save lives.”

Frankly, it doesn’t bother or offend me in the least. They can add all the letters they want.

Matt Spike is a professional fetish photographer from London. He was recently hired by a wealthy businessman to take photos of a group of escorts injecting themselves with chemsex drugs.
“Basically, a professional has come from another country and has hired one or more escorts, dressing them up in this fantasy gear,” Spike explains to Gay Star News. “And then he’s just happy to sit there and watch them inject themselves with crystal meth. I was brought along as a photographer.”
RIP Bob Smith Gay Comedian and Writer
Here’s some sad news.
Bob Smith, gay comedian and award-winning writer, died on Saturday, 20 January in his New York City home. The cause of his death was complications from ALS, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 59 years old.
