Being Called Beautiful

This is an experiment of sorts to the reaction people give when someone calls them beautiful. The interesting thing is the filmmaker wasn’t looking for reactions. Her intentions were to just find beauty.

Teen filmmaker Shea Glover set out to make a short film documenting all the things that she found beautiful. So she went around her performing arts high school in Chicago and began filming her fellow classmates and teachers.

She didn’t tell her subjects what she was doing until they were already in front of the camera. When she did, the responses she got, she says, were not what she had expected.

It’s really a wonderful thing to see…just nice regular people reacting to the kind of attention they don’t usually receive. This is art.

Ten Style Tips For Men

Admittedly, I’m a slave to things like this. I like to know what’s new, different, and interesting when it comes to style and fashion. And here are ten style tips I think work in a general sense.

This one is something I’ve always believed in…

Three: A crisp white shirt immediately cleans up your look and makes you look very elegant. Whether it is pair with a suit for work or under a jacket for a night out, this shirt makes you a smooth operator. Think sexy Tom Ford model. Or sexy Tom Ford.

Yeah, you can’t go wrong with a white shirt. You don’t want to wear those matching color coordinated ties and dress shirts like the guy who does your local traffic report every morning. White is never wrong.

Is Lady GaGa Toning Things Down?

Here’s one of those quotes from Lady GaGa about how she doesn’t feel the need to be outrageous anymore.

This is the year I did what I wanted instead of trying to keep up with what I thought everyone else wanted from me. At the end of 2014, my stylist asked, ‘Do you even want to be a pop star anymore?’ I looked at him and I go, ‘You know, if I could just stop this train right now, today, I would. I just can’t.

The rest of the quote talks about how she would like to portray herself as an example for other young women.

I think people who become known for a certain “thing” or look are placed into neat little boxes and they may or may not ever be able to climb out fully. It happens with writers all the time. Society tends to do this without even thinking about it. And I think anyone who wants the kind of attention GaGa gets needs to be outrageous. People want to be entertained in an outrageous way. I hope she comes to terms with this and embraces what made her a success.
