Is Gay Culture Harming Straight Men?

Of course that’s rhetorical, but there really is a conservative who believes that gay culture has harmed straight men. But then again, I’ve seen a lot of outrageous (and wrong) things from conservatives ever since Trump tweeted about transgenders in the military, most of which I’ve read on Facebook. They look at LGBT people with the limited knowledge they have learned from the media and Hollywood, but not as their equals. And they treat us differently.

Once again, just like Trump’s transgender ban, this is a weak argument that can be disputed ten different ways.

“I’m here to talk about how gay rights and the acceptance of gay culture in the mainstream is harming men on a personal level,” Bera writes in a bizarre new op-ed that would almost be comical if he weren’t being serious.

Bera says thanks to the “misguided fury” of the 1960s, gay people have become “intimately entwined with the mainstream,” and that’s harmful to straight men.

An App For Trash Talking Your Friends

I love most things about technology, but I’m not so sure I like this.

It’s an app designed to let people trash talk their friends, anonymously. So no one gets hurt and someone gets a chance to vent. At least that’s the intention.

Unfortunately, there are drawbacks…

The app, which was launched a little less than a year ago, was created by Saudi Arabian developer Zain al-AbidinTawfiq, who originally started it for Arab employees to vent about their bosses without getting in trouble. But it has since taken a slightly different direction.

It didn’t take long for people to begin using it so shit talk directly to their friends faces. The app doesn’t tell them who sent the message, nor does it allow them to reply.

Aaron Carter Weeps At a Gay Club

Aaron Carter had a very emotional experience recently. And, it was his first performance at a gay club since coming out as bisexual.

“I just want to say thank you so much for all your love and your support with the LGBTQ community and my announcement… It means a lot. Yes, I am a bisexual man, so…”

So began Aaron Carter’s Thursday night performance at Hamburger Mary’s  — a venue close to his hometown in Brandon, Florida. 

Here’s the rest. Tony and I once looked into a franchise with Hamburger Mary’s, but decided against it because we weren’t sure it would work in New Hope. I still don’t think New Hope would have been the right venue for it. New Hope is a little trendy, with gourmet take out and health food stores. But I’m glad to see they’re still around.
