Porn Star Mario Romo Arrested
It looks as if another male porn star is going through difficult times. This one could be right out of a Tennessee Williams play.
Mario Romo, who got his start in the adult film industry as Sean Cody‘s “Francisco” in 2010 (and whose legal name is David Meza), has been indicted on multiple charges and stands accused of tricking a wealthy Texas man into a relationship, convincing him to name Meza as his legal heir, then murdering him.
In case you think this is unique, think again. I’ve been hearing these stories in the gay community for years. Of course there’s always an exception to the rule, but generally speaking whenever you see a twenty-something year old gay guy with a sixty, seventy, or eighty year old, you can almost be certain it’s not about heartfelt love and m/m romance. You’re just hearing these stories now because they’re being reported more often.
True story. I remember this young guy we knew from NY who was dating an older gay guy from New Jersey. At the time they met, the older guy had inherited a huge sum of money. Of course then he invested all the money in bad dot com stocks, lost it all when the market crashed, and the young guy left him faster than you can tweet an inspirational quote about kittens. Some people were actually surprised the young guy left the older guy when he had a reversal of fortune.
Alleged Hate Beating On Christmas
A guy in Virginia is alleging he was beaten in his home on Christmas night, “savagely.”
“I was thrown into my bathtub, and stomped in the face and jaw over and over while being called a ‘faggot,’” Inge wrote on Facebook.
He said the attacker, a man he barely knew, tackled him from behind and “slammed my fingers on my right hand into the door, breaking them and ripping them open.”
According to the comments, this one sounds suspicious. And Facebook is involved, which can make anything questionable. Facebook jokes are like crooked attorney jokes. They’re all true. There’s more here, and I’ll follow up if I see anything else.
Indiana Gay Bar To Close
I have to admit that anything west of Philadelphia and east of Los Angeles is foreign territory to me, however, here’s yet another gay bar in Indiana that’s set to shutter like so many others.
The narrow, pink-fronted Main Street bar with its dark-wood-paneled interior, currently billed as the oldest operating gay bar in Indiana, has seen a lot of history, from the days of bricks hurled through the front window to the legalization of same-sex marriage.
After Dec. 31, the Mark III Tap Room’s chapter in that history will close — at least for now.
It’s a long article and gives a little history about the bar, and also a few reasons for why it might be closing. However, with so many other gay bars closing all over the world, you can’t help but wonder if this is just another sign we’re seeing the final days of the gay bar in general.
