Ian McKellen’s Message For Closeted Gay Actors
I don’t think it’s a secret there are closeted gay male actors in Hollywood still pretending to be straight. I think any gay man alive knows why they do this. It’s a combination of many factors, including fear and shame. That’s the hard part for me. I can’t knock anyone who is still in the closet. We’ve all been there at one time or another. However, I think Ian McKellen reinforces what I’ve always said here on this blog. I’ve never met a gay man yet who came out of the closet and regretted it.
“They become altogether a more attractive person, a more confident person. Everything in your life improves, including, in my case, my acting.
I was able to use my work to tell the truth about human nature rather than using it to disguise it. It is not easy to come out for some people. Everyone’s worried that they’ll lose their jobs. Actors think, oh I won’t get jobs anymore. None of it’s true. My career as a film actor took off very shortly after I was honest and came out. So that’s my message to other actors who are having a problem: don’t.”
More Sexual Assault Charges For Bryan Singer
I think I posted about Bryan Singer once before, but I honestly haven’t been following it much. I did see a tweet recently where several tweeps got into a heated argument over Singer, which left me a little confused. These people were vicious.
In any event, here’s the latest.
Bryan Singer is back in the spotlight as a new man accuses him of sexual assaultwhile he was a young teenager. Justin Smith alleges that Singer penetrated his anus with a finger at a party they both attended in Hollywood.
There’s more here…a great deal more. It’s interesting because there have been other allegations made against Singer in the past and all have been dismissed in court for lack of evidence.
Colton Haynes As Bridezilla
In case you haven’t seen it, Colton Haynes’ wedding is explained in detail in People Magazine, and here’s one quote from the piece.
I wanted Oprah giving away cars. I entered into Jeff’s world of lavish, beautiful weddings and became addicted. I wanted roses falling from the ceiling.
I wanted this weird, magical fairy tale and I started realizing, ‘Oh! I might be becoming a bridezilla’, so I have to step back and let him do what he does and trust what he does….
Here’s the link. This wedding has received a great deal of exposure, even for a celebrity wedding, and some have been saying it’s too much exposure. But I think it’s justified. It won’t be a huge thing to see gay people get married 5 years from now, but right now it still is a big thing and I think people need to see it.
