Movie Review: "Goat" ; Researchers Believe They’ve Found Full Cure For HIV; Gay Presses Reporting On Nick Jonas

Movie Review: “Goat”

I had a chance to watch the movie Goat over the weekend and I wanted to make a few comments. There are plenty of longer, pedantic reviews out there already and I don’t like to give out spoilers or too much detail. This will be short.

With that said, I went into the film with a few preconceived opinions because I’d been reading about it so much in those LGBT press clickbait articles. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from Goat. However, I found it more detailed than I expected, and yet it turned out to be a lot tamer than I thought it might be. It’s not a Disney movie by any means, but after reading all those articles about how outrageous it was, it was nice to see that it had a good storyline, well-executed lines, and a pace that moved quickly. It wasn’t just another frat boy movie.

It touches on some intense topics like masculinity and PTSD. I was amazed at the innocence of one character in the beginning of the film, and how he’s so ready to trust a stranger. I think that’s an interesting angle alone, about how younger people these days seem to believe they can trust and believe in anyone or anything. I was raised not to take that proverbial candy from a stranger, and not to trust strangers, but I think kids nowadays were raised a little differently. But all this aside, I think the most important point of the movie is that it also shows how seriously these frat guys take their lives. For most, there is no life outside of a fraternity and they will stop at nothing to be part of it.

In any event, I actually liked Goat. They didn’t make any strong political or social statements and they let the viewers form their own conclusions. I’m not sure if that’s what they intended, but that’s how I perceived it. I was expecting a typical, rowdy affair about the fresh hells of fraternity culture, and I was amazed to see that it went much deeper than that. And while Goat might not be for everyone, it was definitely one of the better films I’ve seen this year.

Researchers Believe they’ve Found Full Cure For HIV

If this is accurate, it could change so much in the world.

The results of a recent HIV treatment trial run by several British institutions are promising, and may mean the discovery of a cure for HIV.

Fifty patients took part in the trial, conducted by Imperial College London, University College London, King’s College London and the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. The NHS also supported the research.

Gay Presses Reporting On Nick Jonas

I didn’t mention Nick Jonas in the short review above because he was as good as everyone else in the movie Goat. Actually, Nick Jonas was better than I expected. And Jonas didn’t have the leading role. However, this article I’m linking to right now shows, and is proof, that the gay presses really know how to spin something around.

This time, we get to ogle a brief bout of nudity in one of Goat‘s sex scenes. While we can’t post the image here, you can take a look at the (somewhat NSFW) picture over at OMGBlog — if and only if that’s the sort of thing that tickles your fancy.

Now, from that one short passage you would think Goat was about nothing but sex and Nick Jonas showing off. And nothing could be father from the actual truth. There were sex scenes in Goat, but not many. And they were short and relevant to the storyline.

In any event, you can check this one out here. After reading this article, and the comments, I’m starting to feel sorry for Nick Jonas.
