Hillary Clinton Tell All Book: Crisis of Character

I don’t know much about this book and I doubt I’ll read it, however, it’s publishing news and I haven’t seen any large news outlets mention it anywhere. You’ll find it in the gossip blogs, but nothing from mainstream news outlets in the US…which is interesting in itself.

So I’m not actually linking to anyone right now because I couldn’t find a link I felt comfortable with. But the book is up on Amazon and it’s already a huge bestseller. The publisher is listed as Center Street Publishing, which is part of Hachette and they focus on non-fiction.

Having witnessed the personal and political dysfunction of the Clinton White House–so consumed by scandal and destroying their enemies, real and imagined–Byrne came to understand that, to the Clintons, governing was an afterthought. He now tells this story–before voters go to the polls–in the hopes that Clinton supporters will understand the real Hillary Clinton.

You can check this out on Amazon, where you’ll have to pre-order. It won’t be released until June 28, and it’s already a bestseller. Although I doubt it’s going to change anyone’s vote. Books like this rarely ever do that.

But I do think that’s publishing news. Evidently, I’m only one of a few.

Gay Camping Isn’t Something New

I don’t know why this article finds it so amusing that gay people go camping. In fact, I’ve known about gay campgrounds for a long time and I even researched them for a book I once wrote about a gay couple traveling in an RV. It’s really not something new. In full disclosure, I’ve never gone camping, but I’ve always thought about doing it. 

And, from what I’ve heard, there are a lot of highly regarded intimate activities going on at gay campgrounds…to put it bluntly, cruising for sex. So I’ve heard, so don’t quote me.

A few observations from the South Florida Gay News‘s hard-hitting expose on the phenomenon: there are actual gay campgrounds, just like you find gay ghettos in cities. And not too surprisingly, those campgrounds tend to be located very close to urban areas.

Such places are dotted all over the south — including three in Tennessee, good grief. Yeah, if you’re a gay man living in Memphis, it totally makes sense that you’d want to flee into the hills where nobody’s going to find or bother you.

It’s actually kind of insulting.

Wavey Davey’s Pride Message, and More

I know I’m being a little snarky by writing Wavey Davey instead of Davey Wavey, but the message with this one isn’t all that bad and I’m not throwing shade at it in a general sense.

Thankfully, your favorite YouTubers came together to make a cute and LGBTQ-positive video about why they love being gay! Davey Wavey brought together a diverse group of YouTubers to help spread a very important message, and we’re personally all about it.

Even though I personally can’t relate to anything about this one as a gay man, I’m sure there are gay people who can and that’s the most important thing with public gestures like this. They make people feel better about themselves and they promote a positive message. I do believe that’s important and I never take that for granted. Sometimes people need this sort of thing.
