Star Trek Creator’s Son On Gay Character
I posted about how George Takei wasn’t too thrilled about they way they’re creating a gay character in Star Trek Beyond. I also posted about how several disagreed with Takei. And now Star Trek’s creator’s son made a statement.
The son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry thinks his dad would be happy the character of Sulu is revealed to be gay in Star Trek Beyond.
‘I think he would be 100 percent in favor of a gay character in Star Trek,’ Rod Roddenberry tells CBS News. ‘There’s so much going on in the world today. I think he would love any sort of social issue being brought into ‘Star Trek.’

All Gay Version of The Bachelor
Even though I follow a few people on Twitter who really get into The Bachelor, and it’s always trending on Twitter, I’ve never seen it myself. But that might change in the future with this new all gay concept…but I’m not making any promises.
The first US dating show with an all-gay cast, similar to The Bachelor, is finally happening.
Broadcast on Logo, Finding Prince Charming will see 13 ‘charming and gorgeous’ suitors all living in one house while ‘they compete to win the heart of the nation’s most eligible gay heartthrobs’.
You can check that out here. I’m just wondering if it isn’t too late for this. I’m completely finished with reality shows. This is the first summer since it began I haven’t bothered to watch Big Brother, and I’m not missing it at all. But I could be wrong about that. And I will at least check this one out.
Gay Republicans Are Pissed
I’m an independent voter just like a large majority of people in the US, and sometimes those who are strictly Democrat or Republican interest me. But frankly, and I say this with respect, I’m not so sure why these gay Republicans are so surprised this time. As far as I know, this is pretty much what the Republican platform has been all along.
Log Cabin Republicans are calling the Republican Party’s platform the ‘most anti-LGBT … in the party’s 162-year history.’
The gay conservative group is blasting the platform adopted by the GOP after two days of marathon sessions that is anti-gay marriage, pro-transgender discrimination and pro-conversion therapy.
‘Opposition to marriage equality, nonsense about bathrooms, an endorsement of the debunked psychological practice of “pray the gay away” — it’s all in there,’ Log Cabin President Gregory T. Angelo writes in an email to members.
Here’s the rest. It doesn’t sound too appealing to me either. The comments are pretty much spot on with this one. Maybe they should consider becoming the Log Cabin Independents. Just a thought.
