Is Jimmy Kimmel Fat Shaming America?
Admittedly, I don’t eat carbs, I either run or hike 45 minutes to an hour each day, and jeans I wore ten years ago are still loose. I’m fanatical about not gaining weight. I always have been. BUT most of all…I’m not a huge fan of anyone who fat shames.
Kimmel was talking about the cast of Will and Grace and whether or not they would have had a comeback show if they hadn’t aged well…whatever that means.
With that said, read what Jimmy Kimmel had to say…
‘I wonder if one of you was a mess now, if one of you had put on like 85 pounds – if the whole thing would have been called off,’ Kimmel said to Hayes who was a guest on his late night talk show Wednesday (8 February).
‘If you all got fat it’d be fine, it’d be like America in a way.’
Go Hollywood, you did it again.
I have a very good online friend on Facebook I’ve known for a couple of years now. She’s not part of the book community, but I always enjoyed her status updates. She’s been struggling with body image and losing weight for a while now. I see how hard other people struggle with body image, and for Kimmel to make a comment like really makes me wonder WTF.

Europe Fines Russia Over St. Petersburg Pride
The European Court of Human Rights is not letting Russia off the hook for banning a Pride March in St. Petersburg.
LGBTI activists Yuri Gavrikov, Alexander Sheremetyev, Dmitry Milkov, and Maria Yefremenkova were awarded €27,500 damages in total over authorities’ repeated refusal to allow them to hold St Petersburg Pride.
There’s more here, along with a few more interesting facts involving other events and rulings against Russia.
And here’s a link to wiki to find out more about The European Court of Human Rights. I like wiki for most things like this. I’m not that elitist who pretends they know more.
