AllRomance 30% Off E-books

I didn’t know this until today, but AllRomanceebooks.com is having a 30% off sale on selected e-books this weekend. I’m not sure which books qualify for the sale, but all mine seem to be on sale so I’ll link to my main page there where all mybooks are listed. It’s not a bad deal. My regularly .99 e-books are selling for .69 each. So if you’re the type who likes to stock up on e-books like I do you might find this one interesting. I think the sale ends today.

If you haven’t used Allromance before to purchase e-books I can tell you from experience it’s very simple to navigate and you don’t have to work too hard…especially if you’re a little tech challenged like me.

Steve Grand Naked

I’ve posted a lot about openly gay singer Steve Grand who released a gay country western video a while back and wound up getting crowdfunding to support him in a huge way. I was even inspired enough by him to write in a gay country western singer in my next book in the Glendora Hill series, which I’m working on right now.

Grand has taken the ice bucket challenge, and he’s taken it to another level.

I don’t always get naked, but when I do, it’s for a good cause. I didn’t want to waste fresh water (since there are so many without) so naturally, I jumped into Lake Superior, naked, after my performance here in Duluth, MN. Video to come soon. I’m donating to ALS (visit alsa.org/donate) as well as 2 other charities I am passionate about. (Thewaterproject.org and a local LGBTQ homeless youth charity). I nominate ALL of you, to find a charity you are passionate about (in addition to ALS), do your research, and donate according to your means. Love you all!  -Steve

I think it’s adorable, and I applaud him for taking the environmental factors into consideration. There’s been a good deal of controversy over the ice bucket challenge and some of it has to do with water. I’m not getting into any of that here. But it’s just nice to see that Grand took this into consideration.

Paul Ross’ Gay Affair

I actually do know who Paul Ross is, but many of my US readers won’t. I also know I have a lot of readers from the UK, so that’s why I try to balance posts for different people the way I do. Paul Ross is considered a journalist and a presenter in the UK. He recently disclosed he’s been having an affair with a man, and he’s married with five kids. He’s also addicted to  mephedrone. The comments from Ross and his wife are what we would expect from people like this…sickening.

He and his wife seem to be blaming his temporary lapse into the dark side, so to speak, on his gay lover.

Recounting the details of the affair, Ross explained he met his lover at a ‘dogging’ site near his home in Berkshire, a place where couples go to watch each other having sex.

Also, he says it was his lover who introduced him to the drug, for which he is now receiving counselling.

‘The person I have been over the last 14 months isn’t someone I recognise. I have done things I didn’t even think it was possible for a human being to do,’ he said.

His wife doesn’t see it as a gay relationship and she believes it was the drug that made him have gay sex. You can read her quotes, verbatim. Here’s just one sample:

‘I’m not letting that vile little gargoyle destroy what we’ve got.’

Ross is also blaming stress and financial problems.

There is NOT a drug on this earth that could bring ME to have sex with a woman. Not one. Not if my life depended on it. There isn’t any amount of stress that could make me sleep with a woman. And last I heard, the same goes for straight men when it comes to sleeping with other men.

There’s a lot of passive aggressive gay hate going on in this article from Ross and his wife. You can read more of it here.

Gavin Newsome a Hero

If you haven’t heard of Gavin Newsome, I worry for you. At one time, he was mayor of San Francisco. He’s also been one of the biggest LGBTI supporters I’ve ever seen…and he’s been supporting us long before it became the right thing to do to go down in history the right way. In fact, I think he’s always been one of my heroes in a way because he’s always been so vocal and supportive. And always does it with style. I don’t say that about many politicians, ever.

This next link talks about all the things Newsome has done in the past. And he’s not getting all the credit he deserves for it either.

Up until 2004, marriage equality was largely a theoretical debate. The issue had been debated in Hawaii in the 1990s, and courts in New England were grappling with it. But the actual first same-sex marriages were still three months away (in Massachusetts) when Newsom decided that the city should start issuing marriage licenses. Suddenly, the theoretical became very real, very fast.

Now THERE’S a man who is going down on the right side of history and he never even knew he was doing it.

I’d like to know why we don’t get more presidential candidates like him running in the general election.
