Greg Scarnici On Paul Reubens
This opinion piece is by Greg Scarnici that talks about how he feels about Paul Reubens of Pee Wee Herman fame. It’s an opinion piece and I’m not going to comment for that reason.
Here’s a short excerpt from a very in-depth piece that I found fascinating.
You might be wondering why this is such a problem for me. Well, as an openly gay comedic artist, I think it’s important that successful men like Paul Reubens talk about their sexuality. Am I insinuating he is gay? Sure, but he has been doing the exact same thing through his work ever since he came on the scene — and continues to in his latest film — which features a relationship with Joe Manganiello he himself describes as, “a bit of a bromance.”
I highly suggest you go here and read the rest of it.
The comments surprised me. This one refers to Paul Reubens…
I don’t care about his sex life. God forbid he have some privacy.
The problem with that is being gay is NOT about sex, or someone’s sex life.
Harvey Levin On Growing Up Gay
For those who might not know, Harvey Levin founded TMZ, the celebrity news outlet that’s everywhere. And he’s openly gay. In this article he talks about growing up gay in a world where that wasn’t easy. It’s a direct contrast to a celebrity like Paul Ruebens…and countless others…who never talk about it in public.
Here’s an excerpt, verbatim…
When I was a teenager, I found myself in a profound internal struggle—what I perceived as a mandate to live a “straight” life, despite contrary feelings that were welling to the surface. I thought I did a pretty good job sublimating those feelings, but someone close to me had a good sense of what was really going on. That person went on with what felt like a homophobic campaign, denigrating LGBT people with epithets and snide comments—without ever confronting me directly.
Here’s the rest, and there’s a photo of Levin that shows how attractive he is, too. At least I’ve always thought he was.
Randy Blue Performer Overdoses
Here’s another painful story from the world of gay male adult entertainment.
According to this article, Xander Scott, adult performer, died from an alleged drug overdose.
It’s not a long piece, but you can check that out here.
Very sad, indeed.
