Education Department Refuses to Deal With Transgender Students
This is all too familiar to me and I can’t say I’m surprised. It reminds me of same sex marriage and how almost every single politician refused to deal with it, so they let it go to the states. No one in this current administration wanted to even interpret it. They side-stepped, only this time it’s a lot worse because it’s this administration revoking President Obama’s guidance and safety for transgender students.
The Trump administration’s Education Department will no longer investigate complaints filed by transgender students who are kept from using the bathroom that aligns with their gender identity, a department official told BuzzFeed News.
This is actually the first time anyone has spoken about a policy change. It gets more complicated and mentions Title IX, a federal law prohibiting sex discrimination.
