A “Dynasty” Reboot
They are coming out with a new Dynasty soap on the CW in 2017, and not everyone’s thrilled about it.
As Deadline reports, it’ll be penned by Revenge‘s writer-producer Sallie Patrick, alongside the original husband-and-wife duo Esther and Richard Shapiro. And the whole project hails from Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
I’m actually looking forward to it…just to see how it’s done. I hope there will be more gay story lines.
Claremont College’s Speedo Hike Canceled For PC Reasons
Here’s a new one from the never-ending PC police, and it’s rich.
There’s this harmless annual hike up some mountain in California each year and hot, fit guys do this wearing speedos. However, Claremont College’s On the Loose outdoors club won’t be holding the event this year because some people in that college don’t think it’s “inclusive” enough.
This distressing news comes by way of the club’s Facebook page, via a post explaining that the group wants to be a “more open and inclusive space.”
They feel the event’s very existence “unintentionally sent the message that to participate in OTL, you must be fit and comfortable with your body image.”

Philly Bar Owner Caught Saying the “N” Word
The owner of a gay bar in Philadelphia called ICandy, Darryl DePiano, was caught on camera using a racial slur…the “N” word.
The issue of racism at LGBTQ bars and clubs was one of concern even before this video came to light. A group called the Black and Brown Workers Collective led protests last week in the gayborhood, stopping at several places including ICandy.
You can check this out here. There’s a video of him using the word, and DePiano has made a long apology. You can check out a link to his Facebook page with my link. There are a lot of comments and it’s sparked a heated discussion. Personally, I despise that word, and for the same reasons why I despise the “Queer” word whenever I see it used in reference to gay people. Words do matter.
