Gay Movie Review: No Happily Ever After For THOSE TWO Movie
This isn’t going to be a long, detailed film review. I watched the LGBT film, Those Two, over the weekend and I just wanted to make a few short comments. No spoilers.
First, I liked it. I can’t say it was a bad film…compared to most LGBT films I see…and I would recommend it. I think most people I know would like it.
However, if you’re looking for an LGBT movie with a happy ending…or even an ounce of happiness in general…this isn’t the one for you. It’s the age old story with all gay content, from TV to films to books: sad, painful and depressing. It’s definitely not a romance, not like they produce in the hetero film world anyway. In all fairness, it’s not supposed to be a romance.
I’m not saying they had to give Those Two a happy ending. But just once in a while, just throw us that proverbial bone and give us at least one happily ever after. We’re not all sitting at home listening to Eleanor Rigby.
You can read more about Those Two here. As I said, it’s a good film, you’ll like it, but the same old tortured gay characters and dark gay story line.
Side note: this is one reason that always motivated me to write the gay parodies I’ve written, like An Officer and His Gentleman, because I wanted happy endings for a change. Once in a while I think we all deserve a happy ending, even gay people.

Explosion In Chelsea This Weekend
Here’s a general piece about what happened in Chelsea this weekend with the explosion. My brother lives in Chelsea and I know that part of the city fairly well, so I was very relieved to hear that he’d gone to New Jersey for the weekend and he wasn’t in the city when this happened.
Luckily, none of the injuries were life threatening and by Sunday morning, all those taken to the hospital had been released, according to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York in a press conference. Officials also noted that the explosion does not appear to be linked to international terrorism, though Cuomo did say, “A bomb going off is generically a terrorist activity. That’s how we’ll consider it. And that’s how we will prosecute it.”
