So They Buy Twitter Followers Now…

When I recently heard that people are buying twitter followers to promote themselves…or whatever they are hocking on social media…I did a quick blink.

I’m on a lot of social media and it never even occurred to me that I could buy twitter followers. And because it never occurred to me I don’t have a problem linking to the web site that claims it can get you a huge twitter following for a price. Those who would never think of doing such a thing won’t do it just because I linked to it here in this post. And those who would think of doing a thing like this most likely already know about it and they are too far gone to care about my links.

This is what they promise:

While most people slave away promoting their brand and account on Twitter for sometimes years without any serious results, we at uSocial.net can deliver up to several MILLION followers to your Twitter account in a fraction of the time. We were the first company in the world to offer the ability to buy Twitter followers and this means we know the industry and how to deliver better than anyone else. We can not only guarantee you a ton of targeted followers, but a way to succeed on Twitter like you’ve never experienced before.

This is even more interesting:

We work with you in finding out exactly what kind of targeting you’re looking for, or what kinds of people would be most interested in your product or service. Then using our ethical targeting methods, we promote your page on Twitter to the kinds of people who would be most interested in what you have to say — and we can target these people based on interests, country or both, if you reall want to get the most out of the service.

I know nothing about this. I don’t know how it works nor do I want to know how it works. But I have to wonder if they are getting the word “ethical” mixed up with “legal.”

But as I said, I don’t know and don’t care to know how this works. It’s not something I would ever do, not now or ever in the future. I got my twitter followers the old fashioned way: it took time and I slaved away. I know some from working with them, I’ve built relationships with some, and a few are readers who buy my books. I enjoy seeing their tweets, and I hope they enjoy seeing mine.

As a side note: yet another reason why I see some/most social media imploding eventually. And this is going to be a time we all look back on and wonder about someday in the future.
