Reichen Lehmkuhl Shorts
The logo channel is introducing a new concept this summer, with Reichen Lehmkuhl. From what I gather, it’s a series of six second short film clips that’s like a soap opera.
Today Logo goes a step further by launching a 22-episode scripted soap opera on Vine. Yep, each episode of The Vines of Sauvignon Blanc is only six econds long — which means you can watch the whole thing in the span of a bathroom break.
The show, which stars Reichen Lehmkuhl (of Amazing Race fame) and Sue Galloway (from 30 Rock) follows a wealthy vineyard owner who is told he has two minutes and six seconds to live (haha).

I do follow Reichen Lehmkuhl on social media and he seems like a nice enough guy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him say or post anything odd or offensive. For those who don’t recall, he was once partnered with Lance Bass.
On July 2006, former ‘N Sync band member Lance Bass told People Magazine that he is gay and in a “very stable relationship” with Lehmkuhl. The couple broke up in January 2007. Bass said they remained “good friends”.
In any event, I’m a huge fan of shorts, both in film and fiction. Mainly because I’ve always believed that the shorter and simpler something is, and the more distinct something is in getting across the message, the more artistic it is. I wish there were more being produced. And I wish more people appreciated the fact that just because something is longer doesn’t always mean it’s better. In most cases it just means it could have been cut and edited better.
Big Brother 15 Racism
I’ve posted about Big Brother 15 Racism here already. But things continue to surface…even though we as the viewing audience are not always getting the information from CBS, without digging for online news. In the two articles to which I’m linking now, Candice Stewart, an African American contestant, who has been bullied since day one of Big Brother 15 by racists, has a mother at home who isn’t too thrilled with what she’s seeing.
The mother of the female African-American houseguest on “Big Brother” says she’s seen ENOUGH racism on the show … and her church is so fed up with the bigotry, they’re calling for a BOYCOTT.
TMZ spoke with Candice Stewart‘s mother Hazel … who tells us it “hurts” to watch a disgusting racist like Aaryn direct her bigoted hatred speak at her daughter.
Aaryn, along with a few other contestants, has not only been racist against African Americans, they have slammed Asians, Gays, and I think even Hispanics. This truly is the most disgusting group of dumb racist people I have ever seen on the reality show, and I’ve been watching since season one began. I don’t know how the minorities in the house can stomach living with them.
And, according to this link, Amanda may be the worst racist of them all. Admittedly, I can’t stand her. She’s a bully, a big mouth, and unfortunately there is no one strong enough in the BB house this season who can take her on. I would love five minutes with her; just five little minutes face to face.
There’s really no defending Aaryn on Big Brother 15, but she’s far from the only offensive houseguest this season. There’s her BFF GinaMarie, who also lost her job outside the show, and Spencer, whose love for the c-word also got him called out. But what about Amanda? Her worst comments have yet to be aired, but a non-fan posted a compilation video highlighting what people have missed. She insults everyone, threatens their lives (since when is that OK?), and bashes others for doing what she does herself. She’s the ultimate hypocrite.
You can check out this link to see a full video clip of how repulsive Amanda is, from the way she speaks to the way she walks around in that horrible underwear. And this was not shown by CBS. As a side note, I formed my personal opinions of Amanda long before I saw this clip. It didn’t surprise me.
What I find most interesting is that these nasty contestants know they are being filmed twenty-four hours a day, and yet they continue to make fools of themselves. As of right now, none of the worst offenders know they have lost their jobs in real life, and I doubt anyone will ever take them very seriously again. And this summer, with racism running rampant everywhere, from Paula Deen to Riley Cooper, what’s going on with Big Brother seems to be something we need to work on a little more in the US.
