Lance Bass on Gay Marriage
I love these articles in UK’s Gay Star News when they talk about Lance Bass as if he’s some kind of spokesperson for the US gay community. Nothing against Bass. I’m sure he’s great. But he’s usually so far off my radar (and most of the gay people I know) that if his name isn’t mentioned he’s not really talked about much at all. But, in this case, I think Bass’s comments are right on target. And I really like this article and what it says about Mississippi from first hand knowledge because it shows people that not everyone in Mississippi is anti-gay. We often get the wrong impressions from other articles that tend to sensationalize, and I really hate the ones that make the south look bad most of all.
Mississippi native Lance Bass, engaged to marry actor Michael Turchin, is confident that is about to change.
‘We’re here; our feet are planted here in Mississippi, and we can tell you by experience that there’s tons of support down here,’ Bass says in a video released Thursday (13 March) by Southerners for the Freedom to Marry.
Bass adds: ‘Growing up in the South and seeing how change is definitely happening down here way faster than I ever thought it would happen here, I think we have grown leaps and bounds … This is where we need to start taking it to the next level. We need to open the dialogue about this.’

Jim Parsons Renewed
I have to admit that I was never a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory in the beginning. Actually, I only started watching when reruns were released and there was nothing better to watch on TV during prime time. And I only watch about an hour or two of TV a day, and even then it’s something I’ve planned ahead with DVR so I don’t have to watch commercials.
Jim Parsons, who has already won three Emmys for playing Sheldon Cooper on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, will have plenty of opportunity to win more.
CBS took the unusual step today of renewing the ratings hit for three more seasons instead of the usual season-by-season approach almost all shows must endure.
Parsons is openly gay and I think he came out a while ago…at least before it became the cool thing for all the kids in Hollywood to do.
You can read more here. There’s actually something very sexy about Parsons that’s hard to explain.
