Jeb Bush Opposes Gay Marriage; Angry Gay Pastor Is a Top; School Bus Driver Spreads Gay Hate

Jeb Bush Opposes Gay Marriage

I find Jeb Bush’s comments on gay marriage disingenuous, and I hope he doesn’t try to backtrack in the future. As far as I’m concerned, he made these comments and they will be the comments that stick with me throughout the next few years. Bush has not announced he will run for President, but all signs seem to indicate he will run.

In any event, here’s part of what he said:

“It’s at the core of the Catholic faith and to imagine how we are going to succeed in our country unless we have committed family life, (a) committed child-centered family system, is hard to imagine,” Bush told the conservative Christian Broadcasting Network show, The Brody File, in an interview broadcast on Sunday.
“So, irrespective of the Supreme Court ruling because they are going to decide whatever they decide – I don’t know what they are going to do – we need to be stalwart supporters of traditional marriage,” said Bush, who converted to Catholicism 20 years ago.”
I have no idea what the Catholic faith has to do with US government, nor do I care. I’ve also read polls where most US Catholics support gay marriage.
You can read the rest here. This is where I think potential candidates always tend to underestimate the voters. I may not agree with everything Hillary Clinton says or does, I may not trust anything she says or does, but I would vote for her on just this one issue over Bush and never think twice about it. There are a lot of gay centrists out there, but not on this one issue. It’s just too important.
Angry Gay Pastor Is a Top
This is always ironic, especially when you hear people like Jeb Bush mix religion with government. It seems another anti-gay man of the proverbial cloth was found advertising his stuff on Grindr. It’s a long article, with screenshots, that shows how twisted these things can get. On the one hand a pastor is arguing against gay rights and on the other he’s advertising himself on Grindr…with photos.

In an email exchange with Queerty, Makela confirmed the authenticity of the screen captures but declined to comment.

He also told Queerty that he had “resigned” from his position at the church after the story surfaced, and that his wife and senior pastor had been made aware of his extracurricular activities.

But his community also deserves to know. If Makela made even one LGBT kid at St. John’s “Christ-based” elementary school, their parents, friends, family or anyone who ever stepped foot in the church feel like being true to yourself is shameful (and it seems all too likely that he did), then we’re glad to share his hypocrisy with the world.

It’s sad, it’s frustrating, and it can be found here.I don’t really like this kind of doxxing, but in this case it’s proving such hypocrisy it’s hard to argue against it.
School Bus Driver Spreads Gay Hate
This morning I noticed a woman on facebook post an update about how wrong she thought it was to allow little boys who identify as little girls into the girl scouts. She said something to the nature of “This is gay rights going too far.” For me, that’s an immediate block. I don’t care about her free speech, or her opinions, and I don’t have to listen to her. I’m only pointing this out now because of this latest issue with the school bus driver who told a little girl she’ll burn in hell for being gay. I read about the school bus driver, but I experienced the facebook update personally. And it happens on a daily basis. This poor little girl had to deal with this in person. I only had to deal with the facie woman on social media.

Maurissa explained the bus driver sat down them and ‘said that we are gonna burn in hell real bad…I didn’t expect it to happen.’

The two girls had been playing a game where they chase each other’s fingers up and down her arm. Maurissa said the driver told her she was ‘touching her best friend too much, and she was gay for it’.

‘She hurt my feelings very bad,’ she added.

When Maurissa and her best friend were finally allowed to go to class, she told a teacher. Maurissa’s mother was not informed the entire day.

The rest is here. This is an innocent child who had to figure out how to process this hate all alone.  And, once again, all roads lead directly back to religion interpreted through the eyes of a very stupid bus driver.
