If Adele Has a Gay Son

Here’s a “what if” question that’s interesting. Adele recently commented on how she would react if she were to have a gay son.

He makes me so proud of myself, and he makes me like myself so much. And I’ve always liked myself. I’ve never not liked myself. I don’t have hangups like that.

But I’m so proud of myself that I made him in my belly. Cooked him in my belly and then he came out of me! This human who’s suddenly walking around and doing his own thing.

I can’t wait to know who his best friends are going to be, who his girlfriend or his boyfriend is going to be or what movies he likes.

Whatever my kid wants to do or be I will always support him no matter what.”

You can check this out here.

I hope she feels the same way if he turns out to be a gay Republican Log Cabin Attorney.

Philly Gay Bashing Trial

This saga seems to continue. Now Kathryn Knott‘s attorneys are allegedly asking for a mistrial based on what a juror claimed on social media. It’s complicated and I don’t like to comment on legal matters I don’t understand completely…unlike so many other bloggers and tweeters I see.

This comment is very disturbing:

In the thread, which has since been deleted, Duenas claimed that many of the jurors got very emotional during deliberations and often yelled at one another. He also claimed they didn’t convict Knott of the most serious charge, aggravated assault, because they felt bad for her. According to Duenas, one juror said: “I don’t care if she did it, I don’t feel right sending her to jail.”

I don’t get that kind of logic and this is one reason why “a jury of peers” has always made me cringe.

That juror is not my peer.

Thoughts On the Gay “Poz” Cruise

Here’s a post about what it’s like to be on a cruise ship with hundreds of HIV positive men. There is a list of five different observations, and here’s one of them.

Growing older is never a picnic – and that goes double for a gay man – but long-term HIV survivors have additional challenges ranging from survivor’s guilt to post-traumatic stress disorder. “Long time survivors really love the idea of getting away from it all with friends who really get it,” said Paul Stalbaum, the travel agent who has organized the Poz Cruise for the last 12 years and is a longtime survivor himself. “That may be why so many ‘men of a certain age’ join the Poz Cruise each year,” Stalbaum added. “The older survivors bond over shared histories while the younger cruisers have a ready-made group of mature friends and mentors.” If everyone rallies together for an afternoon of mud masks on the beach (above), all the better.

You can read all of them here. There are images, and it’s a fascinating commentary in general.

Of course most of the comments are supportive, but there’s always one douche who has to fuck things up for everyone else. But people went after him this time.
