Church of England Bishops Won’t Back Gay Marriage

Just when the UK is trying to stop all conversion therapy for LGBTQ people, this happens. It’s really kind of ironic, and it mimics a good deal of what happens in the US all the time. Especially when it comes to some of these religious zealots. We take one step forward, and then two backward.

Church of England bishops have refused to allow priests to marry gay couples. It took them 5 years to come to this conclusion, too, and they will still discuss it more next month. What’s wrong with them? These hooded fools refuse to accept gay marriage and continue to enforce that marriage is between one man and one woman. And this is why I have never cared much for organized religions. I will avoid any association with them at all cost.

The article states that civil marriage has been legal over there since 2013. And the church doesn’t seem to have any issues with that.

Here’s more. It goes on to discuss other views on the topic with other churches in the UK. For example, the Presbyterian Church of Scotland does do same sex marriage.

It sounds as though some seem hopeful that this ruling from the Church of England will all change very soon.

Uncertainty on Amazon

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
