Man Allegedly Pulls Out Gun in Minneapolis Gay Bar While Screaming Gay Slurs

This might sound odd, but I never really did feel 100% safe in a gay bar. I know that’s where we are supposed to go to feel safe, but I was always worried about what might happen. Especially getting from the car into the gay bar. There were more than a few times when I saw straight guys harass and troll gay men on their way into a gay bar. And the gay men who just stepped out of nice cars just kept walking and enduring the shame, while the sloppy out of shape straights in flannel shirts laughed and banged their fists on the old cars they were driving.

In any event, here’s another story about a guy who allegedly pulled a gun in a Minneapolis gay bar while screaming gay pejoratives. The guy’s name is Conell Walter Harris, and he’s 29 years old. Apparently, an employee of the bar asked to see Harris’s ID, which he refused to do. Instead, he pulled out a gun and made threats to the employees.

Here’s more. The police finally did arrive and Harris allegedly resisted arrest. There’s an update that says Harris is facing felony charges.

Be careful when you go out to a gay bar nowadays. I have this feeling these incidents are going to continue to happen because our lawmakers never do anything to change the gun laws. And I really don’t want to get political about it. All I know is that the guy pulled out a gun, not a bow and arrow.

Uncertainty on Amazon

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
