The Most Adorable Gay Armenian Couple Allegedly Commits Suicide

This is a sad story. And it’s sad that it is still happening today. A gay couple came out to their families in Armenia and when their families rejected them they allegedly committed suicide.

According to this link, they posted their intentions to commit suicide on Insta, shared a photo of themselves kissing, and then jumped off a bridge.

Most of Armenia is supposedly homophobic and it’s a socially conservative country where most of the residents belong to The Armenian Apostolic Church, which is linked to other Asian Churches. (They use the word Oriental in the article, which I don’t use anymore.)

Even though Armenia legalized gay sex in 2003 (They use the word homosexual and I don’t use that word anymore either. I consider is a pejorative now.)  it’s still a highly homophobic country and most LGBTQ people choose to remain in the closet.

You can read more, here. There’s bittersweet photo the couple posted on Insta. And when I see them standing there, locked in an embrace, I can’t help thinking therefore but you go I.

A Different Kind of Southern Love Story

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
