Cuba Finally Approves Gay Marriage, Ryan Field Books

 Cuba Finally Approves Gay Marriage

It’s nice to finally see that Cuba has approved legalized same-sex marriage, which is part of a new family code that is being called the most progressive in Latin America. In the past, there has allegedly been a long tradition of toxic masculinity. And now all that is about to change.

Best of all, two-thirds of the voters helped pass the law. The new legislation will also allow gay couples to adopt, and the rights of women should improve.

I think this is a sign that the entire world is changing and attitudes toward gay people have evolved to the point where we are not being treated as if we were mentally ill, and we’re not being criminalized anymore. Of course, there are still places around the world that aren’t as evolved as Cuba. They’re mostly in the middle east and Africa. And then there’s Russia with its gay propaganda law.

There’s more to read about, here.  And this is helpful, too. They mention a few of Cuba’s ongoing issues, which include food shortages, electricity shortages, and the effects of COVID. I’ve always wanted to go to Cuba. I have friends who went there by way of Canada and they loved it.

In a way, it’s kind of ironic that they refer to all these new changes as “Family Code.” Here in the US anything “Family Friendly” usually refers to MAGA and anti-gay beliefs.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
