Texas Church Apologizes For Doing an Unauthorized Version of “Hamilton,” and For Anti-Gay Slurs

This story is about a church in Texas that decided to put on a production of “Hamilton” without obtaining permission first. I see a lot of that going on around TikTok, where people are not paying attention to copyright laws with songs. There are these two goons who are constantly doing it. These are things we should all know, but apparently not.

Not only did they do the play without permission, but they also made a few huge changes.

The production appeared to implement script changes to include religious references and concluded with a sermon by a pastor comparing being gay to being addicted to alcohol or drugs.

Here’s more. I don’t see how anyone can compare being gay to being addicted to drugs or alcohol. But they did apologize and they did agree to pay for damages. At least there’s that.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
