Florida Teachers Living In Fear and Don’t Say Gay Law

The article to which I’m linking discusses how school teachers are navigating the homophobic don’t say gay law that has made headlines all over the world. They are doing everything they can to remove anything that’s LGBTQ related. From harmless rainbow stickers to Harry Potter books. I’m not joking.

It’s very sad and so discriminatory.

“I didn’t have any controversial books, but what we keep hearing repeatedly is: ‘Well, if something happens, you could lose your license,’” he said, referring to a state educator’s license. “So they will remain in a closet, not helping anyone.”

Here’s more.  Sounds as though they are all living in fear now. I don’t think I could live in Florida. And I’m glad my governor here in California wouldn’t do anything like this.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
