When Don’t Say Gay Bill Passed Anti-LGBTQ Grooming Comments Surged 400%

I saw this happen firsthand. The moment the don’t say gay bill passed, MAGA went after all LGBTQ people online like I’ve never seen before. They are still doing it, too. And they are vicious. They swarm like yellowjackets for an attack. They picked up the word “grooming” and ran with it.

This particular surge involves rhetoric implying that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people are “grooming” children and includes such slurs as “groomer,” “pedophile” and “predator” in relation to the LGBTQ community.

Here’s more. The saddest thing is they are all too dumb to even realize that the biggest predators are straight white men. But those dumb MAGAs continue to harass LGBTQ people online anyway. Or as a MAGA would say with their limited vocabularies, “anyways.”

The thing that surprised me the most was that all the hate is still out there. They just weren’t saying it aloud until recently. And then there are many who are so deeply rooted in their own straight white privilege they will never understand.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
