Ted Cruz Is Against SCOTUS Gay Marriage Ruling But He Doesn’t Think Anything Will Change

I saw Ted Cruz on Twitter yesterday talking about how he believes the way SCOTUS ruled on gay marriage was wrong. The fact that he would even state that after so many years makes me wonder. Public approval in support of gay marriage has risen significantly in the last ten years, which makes me think that Ted Cruz may have made a huge mistake with his comments.

But, Cruz also said this.

  • Cruz added that it would be “more than a little chaotic” for the Supreme Court to overturn gay marriage and that he doesn’t believe the current justices have “any appetite for overturning any of these decisions.”

Here’s more. So many people, republican and democrat, straight or gay, know gay couples who’ve married it would be unthinkable to take that right away from them. And as more and more people come out as gay, it gets even more complicated.

Why Ted Cruz said what he did makes me believe he’s only preaching to the MAGA base.

There are several fundamental differences between gay marriage and divorce. For one thing, one is a celebration and the other is a serious life-altering choice. So it’s hard to compare the two. And frankly, even if I do support pro-choice, I don’t want the celebration of my marriage compared to someone’s abortion.
