GOP Congressman with Anti-Gay Past Tries to Win Over Gay Voters

I don’t find this all that surprising. I see more and more straight people who at one time were anti-gay changing their minds. Let’s face it, even Hillary Clinton opposed same-sex marriage until she “evolved.” So why should it be so unusual for a GOP Congressman to “evolve?”

Despite his previous opposition, the Republican says, he believes the 2015 Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage across the nation should not be overturned.

Here’s more. His name is Ken Calvert and he has been in Congress for 30 years in Riverside County, CA. Riverside County is also where Palm Springs is located. Calvert is challenging Democrat Will Rollins who is a former federal prosecutor in Riverside County. They say that Will Rollins campaigns with his partner,  Paolo Benvenuto.

Aside from everything else, I have to admit that I like to see more and more allies as time goes by. And let’s face it. I think every politician on the planet was against gay marriage at one time. They’ve all “evolved.”

“Stranger Things” Star Noah Schnapp Claims Will is Gay and in Love with Mike

I enjoyed watching the most recent season of Stranger Things, but I feel uncomfortable about this new gay storyline. Are they doing it to create more viewers? Did they just pull this out of a hat? I never trust 100% when straights take over gay content. The creators of the show, Matt and Ross Duffer, are both straight.

Will’s potential homosexuality and feelings for Mike have been the subject of fan speculation for quite some time, though Schnapp’s remarks are a departure from his previous comments. The actor previously refused to give fans a definitive answer, saying that Will’s sexuality was up for interpretation.

Here’s more.  I hate when they use the word “homosexuality.” That alone now is a pejorative.

It sounds as if this will be just another straight interpretation of unrealistic gay content. But I could be wrong. We’ll see. I’m curious to see if they make Mike gay, too.
