Gay Log Cabin Republicans Are Shunned by GOP at Texas Convention

For those who don’t know, there is a group called The Log Cabin that’s made up of gay Republican people. Or I guess anyone who falls under the LGBTQ umbrella. I first heard of them back in the late 1990s when a friend of mine who was a Philadelphia attorney took me to some kind of AIDS fundraiser that was sponsored by The Log Cabin. I was more impressed by the old building than I was with The Log Cabin group, but I did find it interesting, too.

The Log Cabin, as a political organization, has been around for a long time. Here’s a link to their website. I would imagine that a lot of people find it ironic that gay people would be so dedicated to the Republican party, especially after what just happened in Texas. The GOP actually shunned The Log Cabin from participating in an event. LRC is short for Log Cabin Republicans.

But apparently none of that bothers the LCR. What really rankles them was their recent exclusion from the Texas GOP Convention in Houston. The group was denied a booth in the exhibition hall after receiving a previous approval email that said otherwise.

Here’s more. I’m sure many people are thinking they deserve what they get. And rightly so.

Happy Pride, Texas GOP.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

Amazon

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
