Gay Families Moving Out of Florida Because of Don’t Say Gay Bill

I’m hearing that a lot of gay families and gay people are moving out of Florida because of the Don’t Say Gay Bill. They fear for the future of their families and they don’t know what else might happen there that causes them more anguish and pain.

This video is proof of what I’m hearing lately from people I know in Florida.

Jordan Letschert and Robby Price are teaching their son Kellan how to talk about their family. But recent anti-LGBTQ legislation has led them to reconsider if this is a good place to raise him.

Here’s more.  The video with this link really paints a dismal picture of Florida. I think I’d move away, too, even if I didn’t have kids. Tony and I lived in New Hope, PA for a reason. It wasn’t an accident. And we moved to Palm Springs, CA for a reason. LGBTQIA people are always welcome in these places. Florida, not so much. And the sad part is there’s a large gay population there in certain areas like Wilton Manors.

In all fairness, all gay men need to start calling these straights out in more aggressive ways. We’re always so nice and polite. But I think it’s time they learned their privilege doesn’t work with us. And that goes from the cultural appropriation we see all the time, to anti-gay laws in places like Florida.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

Amazon

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
