An Actor From That Awful “Heartstopper” Series Wants to be a Disney Prince

It’s no secret that I’m not fond of the TV series Heartstopper. I don’t even like the title. It’s cheesy. It reminds me of every inaccurate, shmaltzy M/M Romance book I’ve seen from straight women authors who tell their stories from a hetero POV.

But two things really bother me about that series. First, it’s written by an asexual woman not a gay man. Second, I don’t see as many gay men protesting it. And they should be. You don’t think it’s a big deal? You don’t think this is cultural appropriation? These people are stealing our lives and our culture right out from under us and we are allowing it to happen.

In any event, one of the actors on this series wants to be a Disney Prince.

“I would love to play the first gay Disney prince,” Locke said. “That would be a dream.”

Here’s more. If you’re looking for something uneventful and vapid to read, this is it.

Tennessee Governor Bans Transgender Athletes From Sports

Whenever an elected official does something like this it’s dangerous. I am aware there are issues with trans women competing against inferior straight women athletes who can’t keep up the pace, but I don’t think an outright ban is a solution. This is just going to create vitriol and hurt. And whenever I see an elected official do something like this I know it’s been done out of hate. It’s a direct attack on the entire LGBTQIA community. If they can do this to trans people they can do this to anyone.

And Tennessee is not the only state.

According to the Human Rights Campaign, Tennessee is one of eight states that have passed anti-transgender sports bills. Those include Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Utah.

Here’s the rest.  You can read it in full here. Maybe it’s time to redefine the guidelines in all sports. The times they are a changing.

What readers are saying about “Uncertainty”

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no-nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
