A Gay-Friendly Town Deals with Homophobic Protesters with Pizza Boxes

This happened in Guerneville, California. A group of anti-gay protesters set up shop on Main Street and they started to drive the town wild with screaming and shouting and obnoxious behavior. So a group of local citizens decided to counter-protest. 

As the anti-gay protesters harassed people in town, they were met by this group called the Pizza Box Brigade. 

The Brigade is made up of 30 or so locals who organized via group text and greet the protesters with messages including “Hate is toxic” and “Jesus loves me and my boyfriend” painted on pizza boxes.

Here’s the rest. Apparently, it’s been working, too. It’s been spreading all over town and more and more people want to join in. You can also read more about the gay history of this little town. I think I’d love to go there. I have to see how far it is from Palm Springs.
