Vernon Jones Claims Being Gay Is a Choice And Don’t Compare Gay Equal Rights to Black Civil Rights

This one is rich. There’s a guy running for office in Georgia and his name is Vernon Jones. He is allegedly a huge supporter of Donald Trump, Trump has actually endorsed him, and from the way it appears, his base is mostly MAGA.

“They can actually change,” Jones said in a comment that would put him at odds with LGBT advocates who have said that sexual orientation is what you are born with and not a choice.

“You can go from being straight, to being gay, to being transgender and all these other genders,” he said. “But when you Black, I don’t have a choice.”

Here’s the rest. The guy’s missing a few important points. First, what about people who are black and fall under the LGBTQIA umbrella? I often see black gay people face discrimination more than anyone. And second, how do you set rules down for who qualifies for equal rights? You either support equality for all, or you don’t. That’s simple logic.
