Opinion Piece on Florida's Don't Say Gay Bill, Ryan Field Books

Opinion Piece on Florida’s Don’t Say Gay Bill

Here’s an interesting op-ed piece about how Florida’s don’t say gay bill can hurt someone. It’s written by someone named Will Larkins who’s a junior in high school. He’s a kid who’s experiencing all this firsthand right now. Just a kid. And I think this is the way almost every LGBTQ kid feels. I know I felt that way. And pay attention. It has nothing to do with sex or sexuality.

From an early age I knew I was different. I wasn’t interested in the things other boys my age did, and I didn’t really feel comfortable in the clothes my parents bought me. The struggle for acceptance was not just internal, it also felt like my classmates didn’t know what to make of me. By fourth grade I was convinced that I was broken.

Here’s more. It’s nicely written and gets right to the point. It’s just too bad those horrible people who support this bill can’t understand this.

“A wonderful story that I loved. The characters were well developed and strong. Gus: A sweet young man. Doing something for all the wrong reasons. Craig: his boyfriend, he’ll go along with anything Gus say. Henry: Gus father a no nonsense man, who’s husband died last year. I enjoyed this story.”
