If Straight White Privileged Lori Loughlin Can Get Her Career Back So Can Jussie Smollett

If you recall, straight white Lori Loughlin who plays a sugary sweet role on a “family-friendly” cable channel, was sentenced to a couple of months in prison plus she got a heavy fine for her part in that college entrance scandal a few years ago.  I think she even did community service. I’m not focusing on those details right now. I’m only focusing on the fact that Loughin got her life back and she got her TV show back and it’s as if she never went to prison for anything.

Loughlin, best known for her role in the ’90s sitcom “Full House,” will renew her role as Abigail Stanton on the second season of “When Hope Calls,” which originally aired on the Hallmark Channel but will now be broadcast on GAC Family Channel.

Here’s more. Oh yes, the good old GAC channel now run by Bill Abbott who just happens to be the guy who pulled those harmless lesbian ads from a Hallmark TV movie a few years ago. 

So if Lori Loughlin can get it all back so easily, why can’t Jussie Smollett? The poor guy was just confused and he didn’t really harm anyone in particular as far as I know. I mean, it’s not like he robbed the futures of college kids by trying to get his dumb kid admitted into college with his money. If anything, poor Jussie hurt himself. And I do believe he was confused and that he deserves the same second chance that Lori Loughlin gets. 

No more double standards. What’s good for “family-friendly” Loughlin is just as good for Jussie Smollett.

Watch Out For Anything “Family Friendly” 

I didn’t realize until recently that some things that are considered “family-friendly” are possibly anti-LGBTQ. It’s a passive-aggressive tactic. If you take into consideration that so many gay couples are now raising families, it’s almost kind of ironic. Well, mean and ironic. The gay couples I know who are raising kids are just as family-oriented as the straight couples I know. And yet the discrimination and bigotry still continue. And we have to be aware of it.

…you may have heard rumblings about GAC Family, formerly known as Great American Country. It is a linear cable network created in 2021 by former Hallmark executive, Bill Abbott. Since its inception, it has used phrases like “family-friendly” to promote homophobia, racism, and all-around bigotry.

Here’s the rest. This is the same Bill Abbott who has met with the homophobic One Million Moms group, and the same guy that pulled the lesbian ads I mentioned earlier in this post. 

Just be wary.
