Disney Goes Dead Silent with Florida's Hideous Don't Say Gay Bill, Ryan Field Books

Disney Goes Dead Silent with Florida’s Don’t Say Gay Bill

I’ve been wondering why we haven’t heard anything from Disney about the new bill in Florida that would silence LGBTQIA kids in schools and cause dangerous repercussions. Disney draws huge numbers of people from all over the world to Florida and from what I hear (I’ve never been there) they employ many LGBTQIA people. Many of their customers are LGBTQIA, too. So why haven’t we heard from Disney?

The CEO of Disney, Bob Chapek, is claiming he wants to remain bipartisan. With that said, when you think about all the LGBTQIA people, and their families, who support Disney and work for them, this excuse of bipartisan remains questionable. I know the media is making this a political issue, but it’s really more of a social issue and a human rights issue.

Insiders say CEO Bob Chapek is less willing than predecessor Bob Iger to take public political stands — including on LGBTQ issues and voting rights. The new Disney chief’s rep replies that he “does not bring any partisan agenda to work.”

Here’s more. When you don’t take a stand against something as bad as this don’t say gay bill, we wonder about you and we can’t help but wonder where you stand.

At least we know where former Hallmark CEO, Bill Abbott, stood when he pulled that commercial with two women getting married and kissing.
