Doritos Is Facing a Boycott for Refusing to Take Down Ad with Gay Couple

This reminds me of the lesbian ad with the Hallmark channel. If you recall, a few years ago the Hallmark channel pulled several ads with a lesbian couple who were kissing. A conservative religious group made enough noise to get them to take the ads down. However, after enough negative feedback for taking the ads down, Hallmark backtracked and apologized. They put the ads back up, too. 

At the time, Bill Abbot was the President and CEO. Two months after the incident, Abbot parted ways with Hallmark and now he’s running a cable TV channel called GAC. I think that stands for Great American Country and it’s all owned by Crown Media. Here’s more about all that. 

And now Doritos is facing something similar, only Doritos is not backing down. Doritos is not going to buckle to the demands of a religious group like Hallmark did.
