Novak Djokovic Goes To Dubai After Australia Deports Him For NOT Being Vaxxed
I’ve been vaccinated, I have the booster, and I recently had monoclonal antibody infusions for COVID, so I’m clearly not an anti-vaxxer. I wear my mask wherever it is required and I carry my vaccine cards with me everywhere I go.
With that said, I don’t fully understand how Australia believes this one man…Novak Djokovic…is going to harm the entire nation. First, it’s a fact that people who’ve been vaccinated are getting COVID and spreading COVID. Maybe they don’t realize this in Australia? Second, I chose to get my vaccines and my infusion shots because I wanted them, not because I was forced to get them. So I have to wonder what’s going on in Australia when I read this.
The country’s immigration minister cancelled his visa on the grounds that Djokovic’s presence in Australia may be a risk to the health and “good order” of the Australian public and “may be counterproductive to efforts at vaccination by others in Australia”.
Here’s more. You also have to remember that Australia is the very same place that had a mail-in survey for same-sex marriage. I posted a great deal about Australia and gay marriage here. Oh yes, that’s partly how they decided to make same-sex marriage legal in Australia. They had a mail-in nationwide vote where millions of straights got to decide on whether or not gay people should marry legally. That’s right. Millions of straights held the fates of millions of gay people in their hands. And I personally despised the way they did that. Same-sex marriage should have been legalized only through the government and no private citizen should have been allowed to vote. I don’t care what straights think about me.
So you’ll have to forgive me if I wonder about this choice with Djokovic.
