This is unusual because the guy is so young. Ian Matos, an openly gay Brazilian Olympic diver, recently died from what they are calling a “lung infection.” He was only 32 years old. Supposedly, this infection started in his throat and spread to other parts of his body during a long hospitalization.

“We are profoundly saddened to have received the news of the premature death of the Olympic diver Ian Matos, aged just 32,” Brazil’s Olympic Committee said in a statement.
