Kavanaugh Cites Landmark Gay Rights Cases To Argue About Abortion Restrictions

I have heard gay rights being compared to abortion all my life and it sickens me. I do not see how abortion is in any way related to my life as a gay man. I think it’s insulting, presumptuous, and so typical of straight white privilege. Gay rights and gaining rights is a celebration of freedom. An abortion is usually something that’s taken very seriously and it’s not usually celebrated. The two issues are nothing alike.  So why anyone would compare abortion to gay rights just proves how little they know.

Stewart said that several of the other cases Sotomayor cited, including the LGBTQ cases, produced “clear rules that have engendered strong reliance interests and that have not produced negative consequences,” in contrast to Roe v. Wade.

Here’s more. It just infuriates me they are still, after all these years, comparing my life to abortions.
